Here's an example of what one of Rabbi Hoffman's Torah groups is like:

The Torah group in Boulder on May 19 (2002) was a deeply meaningful two hours, and we will all be reflecting on it for a long time to come. We worked on the story of King Saul's personal crisis, and the story of David dancing in front of the Holy Ark, and Michal's contempt for him. After reviewing the stories, and learning midrash surrounding them, each of us chose a character and acted out the story. With Rabbi's guidance, we used our own personal experience in probing the psychology of the characters, juxtaposing David, Saul, and ourselves.

As always, new lessons emerged from the same stories because of the individual experiences of our group. Amazing hashgochas (coincidences) arose. By exploring the character's motivations and dilemmas first hand, each of us has a new, much deeper insight into these stories, and a more personal, "cellular level" connection to Saul, David, ourselves, and the Torah. For an excellent description of this see Dancing With The Rabbi.
